On October 4th, STP Consultants celebrate 5 years of practice. This combined with the previous 11 years of owning and operating Progress Consultants (1992 – 2002) and 3 years at BMD (2002 – 2005) gives our clients 18 years of operating Consultancy business in Queensland.
STP opened in Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns in 2005 and added an office in Mackay in 2008.
We continue to focus on our client needs which make us the preferred engineer for builders and developers.
Project Services has recently engaged Anthony Florence STP Consultants – Townsville for the Structural Engineering Services on its renovation to the Sports Reserve Grandstand.
Anthony has previously completed extensions at Dairy Farmers Stadium (Cowboys home ground) which has seen extensive grandstand extensions and modification for concessions / stalls underneath.
STP Consultants have been busy designing schools in 2010. Our geographic spread across Queensland has made STP Consultants a preferred engineering consultant for many of the architects responsible to the consultant teams, for the Federal Governments P21 Stimulus Program.
Working on projects from Bamaga in the North, Mount Isa to the West and all areas through to Brisbane, STP Consultants have been involved in over 70 school projects.
Schools generally received a Resource Centre or a Multi Purpose Hall and sometimes a combination of both.
STP Consultants have worked with Architects, Thomson Adsett, PDT, ABM, CA Architects, GGI, John McLean, DbArch and Group GSA.
STP Consultants’ Cairns office (Stephen Tobias) has been engaged to complete the structural design of a 6 storey, 63 apartment building for Harbour City Developments Ltd in Port Moresby.
STP Consultants have been engaged by Cairns firm Design IT with Architect Jim Fitzpatrick as Principal Architect.
The building is a piled structure with carparking at ground level and 5 accommodation levels above. The structure is a combination of insitu concrete, blockwork, precast walls and composite constructions to the accommodation floors.
STP Consultants have been engaged by TCS (QLD) Pty Ltd along with Architects PDT, as part of a Design and Construct team for the $11 million Townsville International Sports Centre Project. TCS (QLD) Pty Ltd engaged James Cook University Engineering Department to complete a wind tunnel assessment which allowed STP Consultants’ Brian Mayer to make significant savings on the structure.
